New book reveals the biggest problem with the Jian Ghomeshi trial

The biggest problem with the Jian Ghomeshi trial began long before anyone entered a courtroom.

At least, that's according to journalist Kevin Donovan, who was investigating Ghomeshi before the Q host posted his now infamous message on Facebook detailing his interest in "rough sex." The reason Donovan was interested in Ghomeshi was because he was approached by an anonymous source about other allegations of sexual abuse stemming from the radio host in the months before the trial began.

Since then, he's interviewed many of the women whom Ghomeshi has been involved with, he personally attended the sex assault trials and he's even written a book about the entire case titled Secret Life: The Jian Ghomeshi Investigation, which will become available on Tuesday.

In the video above, Donovan reveals what he thought the biggest problem with the trial was, and sheds new insights on the case itself.
