The federal government is set to make an historic apology to the LGBTQ2 community.
From 1950 until 1992, thousands of military and public service members were discharged from service because of their sexual orientation. Since then, many veterans have come forward to share their own stories of mistreatment during that time.
Martine Roy is one of those veterans; she was discharged from the Canadian military when she was 20 years old because of her sexual orientation.
In the video clip above, Roy tells us how she’s feeling about the imminent apology and what she hopes is included in that apology.
