About Charlie the Kid
Under the pseudonym of Charlie the Kid, Trevor Dubois is a unique singer-songwriter with an upbeat style and youthful flavor, wrapped in high energy and humor. His style emulates the likes of Jason Mraz, Barenaked Ladies, and musical comedian Bo Burham.
Playing music since he was 11 years old, Charlie the Kid was born and raised in the small town of Russell, Ont., later moving to Toronto to purse his musical dream. He has performed at popular Toronto venues such as The Mod Club, The Cameron House, and The Painted Lady. Last year, he placed in the 2017 Indie Week finals in Toronto, and made the grand finale of the Kingston Busker’s Rendezvous.
What song do you frequently listen to for motivation and why?
“Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin. It puts me in a good mood.

The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Ed Sheeran
What/who inspired you to become a musician?
Guitar Hero 3: The videogame. I was pretty good at it, and when I started playing real instruments I was just hooked.
