Trish and Amy are moms who both gave up corporate careers to stay home and raise their families. While they love and take absolute pride in being mothers, they felt they needed an outlet for their busy lives. After meeting at the gym three years ago, they decided to try racing a triathlon. Through the process, they became training partners and instant friends. They have a special bond and share a sense of adventure that can only be built when you embark on something as grueling and challenging as a triathlon.
Trish had been battling weight and self-image issues for years until she decided to do something about it once and for all. She lost almost 100 lbs and proved to herself she could do anything she put her mind to. Amy grew up with a severe hearing loss and struggled to fit in. She raised a blended family of seven children and stepchildren, with three of those children with disabilities. Amy is also representing Canada this summer at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final championships, being held in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is triathlons that helped give both of these ladies a second chance to get excited about something they could do for themselves.
These females are fierce, intense moms who are ready to compete. They want to show other mothers that it is okay for them to have their own goals and to take time for themselves.
