The Fix’s official synopsis puts it this way: “Attorney and author Marcia Clark co-writes and executive produces a new legal drama about Maya Travis, an L.A. district attorney who suffers a devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder. With her high-profile career derailed, she flees for a quieter life in Washington. Eight years later when this same celebrity is under suspicion for another murder, Maya Travis is lured back to the DA's office for another chance at justice.”
Call it a revenge fantasy come to life, the series, which puts The Mentalist star Robin Tunney at the centre in the role of attorney Maya Travis, definitely feels like Clark is imagining a do-over of the case that turned her into a household name. (And who hasn’t wanted to do that? We should all get our own series). The details of the story are changed: Lost‘s Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje plays Hollywood actor and defendant Sevvy Johnson but the original double murder (and the courtroom loss) remain intact. Writing your own sequel has got to be the biggest boss move of 2018.
The Fix premieres midseason on CTV.
