HALIFAX — Two of the Canadian navy's warships are getting into the spirit of the Grey Cup by exchanging a challenge on behalf of their namesake cities.

West coast-based HMCS Regina and HMCS Montreal, which is stationed in Halifax, have agreed to fly the opposing club's flag from their most prominent yard arm should their team lose the Canadian Football league's title game in Calgary on Sunday.

The crew of the Regina says it has proudly hoisted the Roughriders flag and is suggesting the Montreal do the same for seven days should the Alouettes lose the Canadian Football League's title game.

The Montreal's crew has accepted the challenge pointing out that the Alouettes have already won the CFL's biggest prize five times in their storied history.

They say they are looking forward to seeing the Alouettes flag flying from the Regina's superstructure for a whole week following the game.
