OTTAWA About 200 youthful protesters disrupted Parliament today with a raucous demonstration in the public gallery during question period.
Speaker Peter Milliken briefly put the questions on hold while shouts and chanting echoed through the chamber.
The protesters, chanting slogans about the lack of government action on climate change, were chased from the gallery by Commons security and RCMP.
One protester was seen being dragged down a hallway, yelling that there was `blood on the floor.'
Outside the Parliament buildings, several dozen protesters gathered to denounce both Conservative and Liberal inaction on climate change in advance of next month's UN summit in Copenhagen.
They said five of their number were arrested or detained, a figure that could not immediately be verified.

I applaud the budget, even though Health Care and education may stay unscathed. Sadly this cannot last and I worry to later this year where cuts will become enviable. If anything, this provides the Wildrose Alliance plenty of ammo when an election is called.
