TORONTO Peel Public Health is pushing Queen's Park to add more restrictions to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.
The health unit wants the province to enact legislation that protects residents in multi-unit dwellings from exposure to second-hand smoke.
The Smoke-Free Ontario Act already prevents smoking in all enclosed public places and workplaces.
But, Peel health wants Queen's Park to amend the act to include condos and apartment buildings.
The health unit is also looking to develop educational resources, including a webpage, to provide information to landlords and residents on the issue, suggesting that landlords have the option of declaring their buildings smoke-free.

I applaud the budget, even though Health Care and education may stay unscathed. Sadly this cannot last and I worry to later this year where cuts will become enviable. If anything, this provides the Wildrose Alliance plenty of ammo when an election is called.
