NEW YORK — It looks like Kanye West has finally given a personal apology to Taylor Swift.

Representatives from "The View" say West called the country sensation after her appearance on Tuesday's show. During the broadcast, the 19-year-old singer said West had yet to contact her to apologize for hijacking her acceptance speech on the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

"He has not personally reached out or anything but if he wanted to say hi (I would)," said Swift.

After Swift's comments, West called her and the two spoke, according to a statement from "The View."

"After the show he spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer. She has accepted Mr. West's apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private," it read.

It's the latest in the saga that has caused a national uproar. The drama began after Swift beat out Beyonce and other acts to win best female video at the VMAs for her hit "You Belong With Me."

Swift, the first country act to win at the VMAs, was exuberant after her win, but that moment didn't last long as West -- known for his awards-show meltdowns -- grabbed the microphone and declared that Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" was one of the "best videos of all time."

A shaken Swift did not finish her speech at that moment, but when Beyonce later won for video of the year, she brought Swift out so that she could have her moment.

When asked about the incident during her appearance on "The View," Swift said: "I'm not gonna say that I wasn't riled by it. I had to perform live five minutes later so I had to get myself back to the place where I could perform."

However, she said she was gratified by the outpouring of support not only from fans, but also from celebrities and others who offered support immediately after the incident occurred.

"There were a lot of people around me backstage that were saying wonderful, incredible things and just having my back," she said. "I just never imagined that there were that many people looking out for me."

West has taken a drubbing since then. While he issued two apologies on his blog after the incident, he gave another, emotional one on Monday's premiere of "The Jay Leno Show."

"It was rude, period," West said. " . . . I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve."

Kanye West is not in the least sincere when he apologizes for his actions (on camera, of course) EXCEPT Taylor Swift!! All he cares about is the attention he is receiving, whether it is good or bad.

Tom, the next time you get an award or any recognition, I hope someone takes away YOUR opportunity to thank the people who helped you. Its not about who deserved the award, its called COMMON COURTESY, which it is quite obvious you do not have. BTW, Kanye is a hack.

Kanyeah! be no -thing. The guy is consistently all about Kanye, and needs therapy. What a spoiled brat. He can't make a breakthrough on his own, so he hooks up with Beyond(ce)and tries to piggy back his way to stardom. Jay Leno asks a few simple but direct questions and what's Kanye all about? Snivelling and tears!

Taylor Swift has catchy music with good rythm...until last night I had never heard a tune from her...

Kanye on the other hand...his music is BORING....

More like CRAP than RAP...

I would have loved to see someone jump on stage and knock Kanye out cold!
He has trhe biggest ego around, and he will keep doing this. He doesn't care what others think. Most of his music sucks anyways!!!

It doesn't matter if you like Taylor Swift's music or not, it's about respect. Kanye West has no respect for anyone but himself and that was evident at the music awards show. If anyone had done that to him, he would have been furious, but it is okay for him to do it to someone else??? Anyone who supports this behaviour is as disrepsectful as him!

This just proves that you can take some people off the street, but you can't take the street off some people. Kanye is a prime example.

Kanye simply showed what a little crybaby he really is.

Childish antics like this just blow it for everyone.

The fact that Beyonce went on to win video of the year just proves what a dumbass Kanye really is.

The guy has offered 3 public apologies and 1 personal apology (both to Taylor and her mom). Everyone is acting like he killed somebody or something. Yes was a dumb thing to do,and there is no excuse for it and he admitted that. People make mistakes. Swift even accepted the numerous apologies and both are trying to move on from this it seems. Why can't everyone else?

Kanye just severed some relationships he had - there are many stars that will break ranks with him - although on the other hand - stars/celebrities live in a world that is different than all ours who WORK in the real world.

Kanye - instead of getting on stage to interupt a young star - who does have fans - oh - who actually won - she is talented whether you like her music - you should have grabbed your "blankie" and "soother" and had a little "nappie"

Either you are the biggest narcissist - or - a bully.

People like Kayne are in the rich and powerful position they are because the fans support them. People need to stop supporting these morons. It bothers me to no end that morons like this get rich and famous.

Kanye is only apologizing Cause....he did not realize how Big of a star Taylor was and the uproar he would cause. But he should of just kept his mouth shut. Good thing he has a career producing music cause his next CD may Bomb.

Either way i think Kanye needs to get Help ever since his mom died he has been going down hill. He need's to take a break and seek Help and then maybe people will start to believe him

Uh, what? Are you seriously suggesting that Kanye West is famous because of Beyonce? I'm not a fan but the guy is basically one of the biggest names in music right now and has been for years. You're seriously living in a cave if you don't know that.

And uh, "a few simple but direct questions" lead to "snivelling and tears"? Leno asked him about his DEAD MOTHER. If you think showing this kind of disrespect to a disrespectful person is somehow acceptable just because he's a celebrity, then I'm not too impressed with your personality either.

He spoke up 'cause he thought the award means everything and someone else should have won, not that he thought the shows are crappy.

Everything this man has done so far on live tv , could of been prevented ( if THEY wanted to ). In today's ( North American world , information that is broadcasted on tv is planned and approved before it gets released ... If I'm not mistaken , they now have a few second delays on tv networks in order to keep control ... Also, MTV could of simply cut the mic off when he grabed t from her ... N-E-Ways , stop Purchasing or buying into media propaganda ...
Plus, MTV got its ratings up once again ...

I tend to agree with most of the comments posted. I have never seen a recall receive so much attention by the media. All auto manufacturers have recalls from time to time, it is only natural - however this time there seem to be a lot more attention given.I just wonder if it has anything to do with that the US Government are currently part owners in GM.Just wondering.
