Mary Murphy hopes Tom Cruise will join Katie Holmes in tonight's episode.
Mary Murphy on SYTYCD's historic 100th episodeUpdated Wed. Jul. 29 2009 3:30 PM ET Lindsay Zier-Vogel, CTV.ca So You Think You Can Dance is celebrating its 100th episode tonight and Mary Murphy is thrilled: "It's pretty exciting for all of us and it's definitely exciting for me!" We've all heard by now that Katie Holmes will be performing tonight, and Mary sat down to interview about this landmark episode... Q: What do we have to look forward to on the 100th episode? A: Katie Holmes has been working with Tyce Diorio for the last year, training as a dancer so this is definitely a product of all that training. I'm super excited to see her doing her Judy Garland thing. And I'm hoping Tom Cruise will show up too! I mean, I wished three years ago that Ellen (DeGeneres)would be on the show and that dream came true, so maybe I should start wishing for Tom! Q: So what would you do if Tom Cruise asked you to dance? A: I'd truly have a heart attack! Q: What was it like having Ellen DeGeneres on the judging panel? A: Celebrating this milestone with Ellen is like the icing on the cake for me. I'm a huge fan and have been for years. I've been mentioning for years how much fun it would be to have her on the show and my dream materialized on the 100th episode! It couldn't be sweeter for me. I don't usually get star-struck by too many celebrities, but she's one of them. I was so worried the night before, I couldn't sleep. I was so afraid I'd just shut down and not be able to say anything at all, or be a fool and jump around like an idiot. But it was just great. She's just such a joy to be around and she's a huge fan of our show. We had a great time and I can't wait until she comes back tonight! Q: What else is in store? A: It's going to be amazing -- all of the Emmy-winning performances will be coming back and an extra special treat is going to be Wade Robson's group number, "Ramalama (Bang Bang)." The best part is that Wade Robson's going to actually be dancing in it! He was a Michael Jackson protégé and I think this is a tribute to him. I saw Wade rehearsing and man, he was laying it all out there on the dance floor. It's not very often that he dances, so it's really a special occasion. Q: How are the Top 8 doing? A: They're all really strong this year, especially the girls. I'd hate to lose any of them right now because I really do believe that any one of these girls could be in the final. Q: Can you foresee So You Think You Can Dance Canada's 100th episode? A: Canada certainly has the talent and the Executive Producer has an expert team around her. I love every minute I spend working up there. I really think the talent pool is much larger than I ever imagined. Q: Who would you like to sit beside as a guest judge on Canada's 100th episode? A: I would certainly keel over if Celine Dion was there! I'm just throwing it out there in the universe! SYTYCD alumni guest choreographers and dancers will also be celebrating the milestone. Choreographers making an appearance include Mia Michaels, Wade and Amanda Robson, Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo, Brian Friedman, Nakul Dev Mahajan, Doriana Sanchez, Tony Meredith and Melanie Lapatin.
Dancers returning to the stage for this commemorative episode include Season 2's Benji Schwimmer (winner), Travis Wall (runner-up), Heidi Groskreutz-Burns, Ivan Koumaev and Natalie Foopoulos; Season 3's Pasha Kovalev, Sara VonGillern, Hokuto (Hok) Konishi, Jaimie Goodwin and Anya Garnis; and Season 4's Joshua Allen (winner), Katee Shean, Courtney Galiano, Chelsie Hightower, Will Wingfield and Comfort Fedoke.
In addition to the return of "Ramalama (Bang Bang)," Wade Robson's fan-favourite and Emmy Award-winning routine "The Hummingbird and the Flower," will also be featured as well as Mia Michael's "The Bench."
