AFTON, N.S. — One person died Saturday in a fire at a home in a Mi'kmaq community in northeastern Nova Scotia.

RCMP reported that fire departments responded to a blaze on Paq'tnkek First Nation in Afton at about 6 p.m.

However, police say the residence was "fully engaged when the responders arrived on scene," about 30 kilometres northeast of Antigonish.

A police news release said one person had died in the fire, and the body had been sent to the medical examiners office for assistance in identifying the victim.

Police also say that an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

I don't blame Roy for wanting to win and as he gets older, it's more important for him to be on a winning team. It sure will be sad to see him go. With this ownership, it's more of a financial issue -- they just don't have and probably never will have the resources to put a winner on the field. Maybe they should look at selling the team to someone who can build a winner. And they wonder why the fan base is drying up.
