WINDSOR, Ont. A man from Windsor, Ont., who was jailed after cutting off a dog's ears and suffered a somewhat similar fate behind bars has been moved to another facility.
Police say Rony Salman was transferred to a jail in Chatham, Ont., after part of his earlobe was bitten off by another inmate during an altercation at the Windsor Jail.
The inmate, who has not been publicly named, is not facing any charges.
Windsor police Staff Sgt. Ed McNorton said police did not take action because there was no complainant in the case.
Salman cut the ears off his puppy and received a 90-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to animal cruelty charges in May 2007.
He is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
