VICTORIA British Columbia Liberal MP Keith Martin is keeping his seat in the Victoria-area riding of Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca after a judicial recount.
Martin says defeated Conservative Troy DeSouza conceded after it became clear it was impossible for the Tories to win, even with a few disputed votes.
He says there will be no official count because of DeSouza's decision to give the victory to the Liberal incumbent.
Martin praised Elections Canada for the smoothness of the recount, which took place over the course of the day at a posh downtown Victoria hotel.
On election night two weeks ago Martin edged his Conservative rival by a mere 68 votes.
