Pigott was losing his mind. It was clear to him now, and to everyone else. The girl with the pimpled face had started serving him his meals in a separate room from the others and giving him plastic forks and knives. He was also aware of a distinct change in the manner of the producers and handlers in whose care he'd been trusted. They spoke to him in slow half-sentences and were clearly making an effort never to mention his increasingly pathetic attempts at performance.
He picked again at the scab on his elbow and muttered something about the war.
"What'll you do for Monday?" The psychologist asked him. Nobody would admit that this was a psychologist, and the man himself insisted on being called Leon, but Pigott knew what he was.
"Pigott's not that crazy," he said.
Leon cocked his eyebrow as if this was profound. He pointed his pencil. "You only refer to yourself in the third person now. Why is that?"
Pigott shrugged. "Just so we're clear." He made brief eye-contact with Leon, the semi-therapist, and then quickly looked away. "It's all part of the plan."
Leon scribbled something in his notebook and checked the clock.

As the contest continued Sebastian found himself more and more tempted to impale himself with sharp metal instruments. His collar seemed to itch him constantly and his pores would open up without prompting and pour sweat down his back and shoulders. Something had twitched at the center of him and for his life he couldn't figure out what it was. He was certain, though, that something had changed. There was a feeling of malice and hatred hanging in the air, choking the sleep out of his bedtime and the fun out of his lackadays, and now here he was, perched on a park bench, puzzling over his unexpected predicament.
"If only I had some sort of spaceship," he thought to himself. "Maybe Earl might know where I could find one." Sebastian raised his head on his sunken shoulders and looked around for his good friend, but Earl was off across the field making conversation with a shrub. Whatever it was they were talking about, Sebastian wished that he was privy.

Sebastian chewed gently on the side of his thumb and tried to calm the raging tribes of plastic army men that he imagined were doing battle in his brain. This contest had gotten the better of him, if only for a moment and he had the urge to do something drastic. Like shave his head. Or take his pants off in a public place. He wondered aloud what the voters would think of public exposure. The old man behind him turned to look.
"Hey, you're on that television show," he said.
"Uh huh, uh huh."
"You were terrible last night."
"I ... Well, you know ..."
"My God, what were you thinking?"
"I ... I don't know. I wasn't ..."
The old man shook his head in disgust, stood up and walked away.
Sebastian wiped a fresh bead of sweat from his forehead and swore under his breath.
"I better get my poop together," he thought and turned around to walk back to the mansion.

I absolutely love the fact that you did not write the typical - "thank you..blah blah blah..." you have real character and that is so much better! In regards to Earl I think he does know how to find a spaceship...i grew up with his sister and ever since Earl was a little boy he had always been that awesomely unique dude that seemed to be from another planet (a planet that i could only dream of being from :))...so keep being yourself and take critism with a grain of salt cause it is only one persons opinion...good luck...i am excited what great things you will do after canadian idol!

Dang! I'm pretty sure you were my favourite, and absolutely sure that it should've been between you, Earl & Mookie (although I my true vision involved both Pigotts battling it out in the Final 2...)
I don't really know why the judges gave you such a hard time on Bowie night. I quite enjoyed it. I enjoyed it all really- and they really didn't show you proper respect. I think that cocky attitude of yours just sort of crept under their skin (and also they were intimidated - maybe even threatened of course).
Anyway, it's a shame about the show, but your writing is entertaining and I hope there'll be more Sebastian entertainment splattered around the media soon.

Leanne tapped the pigott letters into the YouTube search space. Seconds later, Sebastian's eyes pierced the screen,bringing it on home to her. James Dean has nothing on that face, she thought. She pressed replay. And again. And again. Soon Leanne was sucked into a space time continuum of pigottry. That twisted mouth, that certain seduction of the mic pole. Time well spent, she thought.

Sebastian, you are soo creative! =) im really sad to see you go, as you were my absolute favourite! i love your singing, your very handsome, and i think you are going to become a HUGE star! keep on doing what your doing, never give up, and keep going strong! i would love to see more of you in the future! i would love to see you, mookie, tatiana and oliver record "Fly Like An Eagle", as you guys did really well on it! i would love to see you come out with an album, do some acting on tv (even if its just commercials, but i would LOVE to see you on a tv show!) and i would absolutely LOVE you to do some modeling! =) good luck seb! i know that your gonna be successful and will support you and comtinue to be a HUGE fan every step of the way! =)

too funny, knew you had a sense of humor...but omg...love it. You may not have lived in Canada your entire life, but you surely have the great canadian humor. You and Earl, until I read this blog, wouldn't have guessed. Now I wonder how anybody could keep a straight face around you two.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do...you obviously have lots of choices...but even though I can say since top ten you didn't pick what I would say were great songs for you, you showed us before what you were capable...so do your thing have fun, and never never lose your humor. Its to perfect.

Sebastian, your writing is brilliant. Thanks for reminding us that the Idol contestants are real flesh and blood and not just objects up on the stage for our enjoyment.

Shock and Awe...Sebastian ..the stage will never be the same without you ..you left quite an impression ...your performances displayed all your artistic talent which takes alot of skill..your journey is not over from your interviews after the show I could see a new and fresh Sebastian charging his batteries up to come back and knock Canada's socks off again..see ya in the finals

Sebastian, I was disappointed you didn't get the votes to stay in longer. Toronto must have all been on vacation. You are a great singer and performer and I'd enjoy listening to you perform anytime. Hope you keep going in your music and good things come from this for you.

Missing you Sebastian ...hope that someday the east coast will be an enticing place to visit for you & your brother. Loved both of you right from the auditions...first time I really became interested in the show...just because of the Piggot brothers. Love your passion, emotion, and genuine love for music...be prepared for great things in your future!

I still don't understand what Canada was thinking when you didn't receive enough votes. You were the best performer on the show, I enjoyed watching you each week. The show isn't the same. There still are some good singers on the show but none as good as you. I would love to see you perform in the future!

Hi sebastian
I loved this canadian Idol season so much but when they elimiated you I stopped watching it you are the most talented performer they ever had to represent canada and the judges should look for a different occupation cause obviously they don't know talent from clowning around especially Zack (just jealous ) Werner he just wishes he could have your looks and talent seb please don't leave us hanging we are waiting for your (bring it on home to me style CD's to hit the shelves in the near future.
