For Marie-Pierre Bellerose, being one of the Top 24 competitors on Canadian Idol this season is a once in a lifetime experience. "I enjoy being around all these inspired artists in the Top 24, they're amazing and so talented. Hopefully this will change my life and my future!"

Born and raised in Quebec City, Marie-Pierre has been performing on stage since high school. "The first time I sang onstage was huge for me! I didn't know if I could do it. When I was done I got a standing ovation and I was so proud of what I'd accomplished." She's been a performer ever since.

Not just a singer, Marie-Pierre enjoys painting and fashion as well. To her, Gwen Stefani is the kind multi-talented performer whom she admires and one day hopes to emulate by bringing her many diverse interests into her own career.

Marie-Pierre promises to bring her eclectic influences and intensity to her performances on Canadian Idol. "I'm a mixture of a lot of styles," she says. "I love Joss Stone, Fergie, Feist, Metric - they are all so unique and very talented. I can't just pick one style of music to be inspired by. I have to be me."

While she credits her positive attitude and dedicated hard work for why she's made it so far in the competition, she also thinks the support of her family has played a large part in her success. "My family has been extremely supportive. Actually, they were pretty much as nervous as I was through the whole audition process. They have been behind me every step of the way."

This season of Canadian Idol will be an amazing journey for Marie-Pierre, but she knows that for her, the best is yet to come.
