At 17 years old, Katherine St-Laurent is the youngest competitor in the Canadian Idol Top 24 this year. As a fan of the show, making it this far in the competition has been one of the greatest moments of her life. "It's a great show to watch, and I am so excited to be a part of it because it's giving me the opportunity to live this incredible experience."

A mature talent already, Katherine knows what she needs to do to become the next Canadian Idol. "It's going to take a lot more than just having a strong voice to succeed in the competition. It's going to take a whole lot of hard work too. I'll really need to concentrate, but I think most of all, I will need to make good song choices."

Even though she is the baby of the Idol bunch, Katherine has bonded with her fellow competitors. "The part of Canadian Idol that surprised me the most has been how the competitors have all been so kind and supportive of each other. Everyone is so friendly and I feel like I really have bonded with everyone in the Top 24," she says.

Katherine's family and friends have always been her biggest supporters. "The greatest inspiration to me has been my parents; they have showed me everything about life," she says. "My friends are also an inspiration; they are all so unique and very positive people."

Katherine is your typical Canadian high school student - she loves playing basketball and tennis, going to movies, spending time with her friends; she even has a part-time job, though it's a unique one. "I'm a golfball saleswoman. I guess it's a bit of a funny job to have when you're 17, but I really like it."

Being able to chase her musical dreams on Canadian Idol this season opened up a world of possibilities for her. "I have loved the experience of singing in this competition so far, it's helped me realize that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life."
