A self-described nomad, Tetiana Ostapowych has travelled extensively around the world. She spent the past year and a half living in Los Angeles, and prior to that travelled on cruise ships for two years, visiting destinations from Costa Rica all the way to Alaska.

From touring Tuscany with close friends to sailing on a cruise ship through 50 foot swells during Hurricane Ivan, Tetiana's trips have been a constant adventure. Wherever she goes though she's a proud Toronto native. "No matter where I am in the world, I'm always so proud to be Canadian."

Making it into the Top 24 this season has taught Tetiana a great deal about herself. "I've learned to trust myself, to trust my song choices and performances. I realize that this experience is mine and as long as I am enjoying myself, nothing else matters."

Armed with this empowerment and optimism, Tetiana is excited about the competition. "This is the happiest time in my life so far," she says. The competition has even reunited Tetiana with some old friends - the Pigott brothers, whom she knew from her time attending high school at the Etobicoke School of the Arts.

When she's not performing, Tetiana enjoys photography, Sudoku puzzles and hosting parties for her friends and family, the people who have been her biggest supporters in her career.

Tetiana admires former Canadian Idol contestant Jacob Hoggard for being a fearless performer during his time on the show. As for what she hopes to bring to this season, in her own words, Canada should "expect to be entertained."
