Jesse Imeson, the suspect in three Ontario slayings who was captured in Quebec, was taken to hospital Wednesday complaining of stomach pains.

Sgt. Melanie Larouche of the Quebec police told The Canadian Press that Imeson was just being checked over, and that his condition is not serious.

The 22-year-old is expected to be flown back to Ontario, where he will be handed over to police later in the day.

Imeson was captured late Tuesday in Portage-Du-Fort, Que., near the Ontario border, about an hour from Ottawa, after an intense two-week manhunt.

Windsor lawyer Andrew Bradie told CP he has spoken with his client, but said it's much too early to say whether Imeson will stay in London or be sent to Windsor for trial.

Police in Ontario and Quebec were searching for Imeson in connection with the deaths of Windsor bartender Carlos Rivera and William and Helene Regier, of Mount Carmel, Ont.

Dale Lewis, who has a cottage in Portage-Du-Fort, was checking a neighbour's property Tuesday when he saw someone inside jump behind a column in the living room.

"I left the property and got another neighbour to call 9-1-1, then I watched the property and I saw (Imeson) walk out the driveway and down the road up into some other cottage areas," Lewis told CTV's Canada AM on Wednesday. "My next door neighbour gave a little pursuit and then the police went in. It took them about an hour-and-a-half to apprehend him."

Bob Simpson, who owns the cottage where Imeson was spotted, says he's happy that nobody was hurt.

"We're just thankful that we didn't come up when he was in there because we would have confronted him right in the cottage," Simpson told CTV Newsnet on Wednesday.

Simpson, who left his cottage on Monday, said there was little damage done to his property.

"I locked it real tight when I left on Monday," said Simpson. "He climbed up on the roof and got into a window, a cathedral ceiling... and had to drop about 15 feet to get in so he made a real effort to get in the place."

Quebec and Ontario police officers found Imeson in a nearby wooded area just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Quebec police have confirmed that Imeson was armed with two rifles when he was arrested, CTV's Kate Eggins reported Wednesday.

Imeson is wanted in connection with the deaths of William and Helene Regier, an Ontario couple fatally shot earlier this month near Grand Bend.

He has also been charged in connection with the earlier murder of Carlos Rivera, a 26-year-old bartender at a gay strip club in Windsor, Ont.

Sgt. Melanie Larouche, with the Quebec police, said Wednesday that Imeson was currently being held at a detachment in Campbell's Bay, Que., about 20 kilometres north of Portage-Du-Fort.

Imeson is expected to be transported by plane to Windsor, Ont. later in the day to face three charges of first-degree murder.

Larouche said he would not be facing any immediate charges in Quebec but was being investigated as a possible suspect in about 10 break-ins. Charges could follow later, said Larouche.

On Monday, police found a missing truck owned by the Regiers in the Ottawa Valley, sparking fears that Imeson was still in the area.

Before he was finally caught, the hunt for Imeson had extended into the United States, with his face appearing on the top of the America's Most Wanted website. A Canada-wide warrant was also issued for Imeson.
