Fourteen Remain as Four More Go Home Tonight on Canadian Idol

Toronto, ON (July 4, 2007) - Another four competitors have been eliminated from Canadian Idol, leaving just 14 singers to compete one last time next week for a coveted spot in the Canadian Idol Top 10. After two million votes were counted following this week's performance episodes, Andrew Austin, Naomi-Joy Blackhall, Scarlett Burke and Clifton Murray were eliminated on tonight's live results episode on CTV.

Sarnia's Austin, 27, was eliminated despite making history Monday night as the first Idol competitor in North America to compete while accompanying himself on guitar while singing Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning." Murray, 27, from Port McNeill, BC, sang James Morrison's "You Give Me Something." Halifax's Blackhall, 25, performed Dido's "Here With Me" on Tuesday night's show while Toronto's Burke, 18, sang CCR's "Proud Mary."
Also among the Bottom Eight tonight were Dwight d'Eon, 28, from West Pubnico, NS, Brian Melo, 24, from Hamilton, ON, Toronto's Mila Miller, 17 and Dorval's Khalila G, 23. All four return next week to try for a spot in the Top 10, which will be revealed one week from tonight, on Wednesday, July 11.
