WINNIPEG Anglicans have decided to try again Sunday to tackle the issue of blessing same-sex unions.
Delegates at the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada were going to have an open-microphone debate on the issue Saturday night.
But after hours of wrangling over procedural issues, it was decided they would try again on Sunday.
The church does not perform weddings for same-sex couples but is trying to determine whether it should allow priests to conduct blessing ceremonies for those who obtain a civil marriage.
Unlike a wedding, a blessing ceremony does not include the exchange of vows or rings.
The Anglican Church of Canada has approximately two million members, making it Canada's third-largest denomination.
