A hazardous materials team was called to the Casino du Lac Leamy in Gatineau after employees began experiencing strange symptoms including itchy red spots.
CJOH's Natalie van den Bosch reports the experts were called in to try and figure out what caused 10 workers to develop skin irritation to their hands and face at the Quebec casino.
The first employee to complain of itchy red bumps was sent home early Saturday night. Concern began to grow as others began to complain of the same bumps.
"Over the course of the evening others complained of similar symptoms and eventually we made the connection they all worked at central cash," Casino spokesperson Catherine Schellenberg told CJOH.
Casino officials said they called police once that connection was made. The casino was never evacuated during the investigation and the central cash area was concealed as the team did their work.
Tests at the scene did not indicate any dangerous substance. The casino said that it has had no further complaints from employees or the public.
As for the workers, three employees were treated in hospital while the others were given an antihistamine.
Police said no criminal investigation will be pursued and the actual cause of the rash may never be discovered.

I applaud the budget, even though Health Care and education may stay unscathed. Sadly this cannot last and I worry to later this year where cuts will become enviable. If anything, this provides the Wildrose Alliance plenty of ammo when an election is called.
