The meter is ticking for the 'CSI: NY' cabbie killer

While the investigators on "CSI: NY" track new cases every episode, this season one criminal has eluded the team; the notorious "Taxi Cab Killer." According to "CSI: NY" star Melina Kanakaredes, the killer lures people into his taxi like a regular fare -- a frightening thought for the cab-reliant citizens of New York City. "People can't get in cabs... it's horrible," the actress says during an appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly." The killing spree has been ongoing during the show's fourth season and the CSIs are frustrated by the evidence left by the killer, including strange letters carved on the back of his victim's necks. For the CSIs it's been a tough case, but for the actors on set, the "Taxi Cab Killer" has been a different experience entirely. "This has been fun for us, because it's something different. It's cool, because there's little clues every episode," says Kanakaredes. The team is still slowly piecing together what little clues they have and according to Kanakaredes, are finally close to catching the culprit. "CSI: NY" airs Wednesday nights at 10 on CTV. There's a good chance that the "Taxi Cab Killer" storyline will take centre stage on the season finale of "CSI: NY," like the previous "Miniature Killer" multi-episode storyline on "CSI." Canadian Elias Koteas has signed on for a guest role as a bank robber in the season finale of "CSI: NY," which will air on May 21. Koteas is also set to appear in the season five premiere when the show returns from its summer hiatus. |
