Marie on "Robson Arms," says her character may be crazy, but Sault's a real person too. "She's always looking to find herself, and she has always got great adventures she embarks on," says Down, who returns for her third season on "Arms" this year. Sault finds her life in shambles at the beginning of the show's third season, with rotting food in her broken refrigerator and a crying baby upstairs. But in the episode, "Positivity," which airs Monday, May 5 at 9:30 p.m. ET, the normally caustic Sault Ste. Marie discovers the power of positive thinking and tries to turn her life around. Down has a long list of acting credits to her name, including roles on "Stargate," "Smallville" and "Battlestar Galactica." Down also won a Gemini and a Leo for her appearance on "Cold Squad." In "Positivity," Sault even gives a shout-out to Down's former series when she fawns over "Battlestar" actor Tahmoh Penikett as an act of wishful thinking. (took out end quote) "It's the best made sci-fi show ever," gushes Down. "I think it's really well made and the actors are incredible." For the Surrey, B.C.-born actress, she's just as happy on the streets on Vancouver in "Robson Arms" as she was trekking across the galaxy on "Battlestar." Down says that the cast of Canadian actors on the show are one of the reasons she keeps coming back to the series. "I laugh a lot, and there aren't a lot of egos here, and no matter who I'm with I have a good time." In addition to the cast, Down loves the fact she gets to work in Vancouver, which she says is the "greatest city in the world." "I'm grateful I get to live and work here and appear on a show that is set in the city," says Down. "Robson Arms" airs Monday nights on CTV. |
