Hailing from Vancouver means that Jane McGregor is right at home on the set of "Robson Arms." Hailing from Vancouver means that Jane McGregor is right at home on the set of "Robson Arms." "It's cool, you know? As a Canadian you're used to seeing a lot of American culture around you, but it's nice that we get to say names that make sense for where we live," McGregor tells CTV.ca. "Robson Arms" will be unveiling a sneak peek at the show's third season on Tuesday, Feb. 26 and Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 9:30 p.m. ET immediately following "American Idol." McGregor plays Alicia, one of the youngest tenants of "Robson Arms," who begins her married life in season three with Fred (Haig Sutherland). "I think she's kind of goofy," says McGregor. "I like how she doesn't seem too concerned about anything... there's openness about her, and she's just so childish and cute." McGregor has had a long career in acting, appearing in both TV and film, most notably in "American Venus," with Rebecca De Mornay. However, none of the roles have lasted as long as McGregor's stint as Alicia. "It's fun. I've never done a series that's gone over a few years and. It's neat to do a character that has gone through so many changes," says McGregor. "It's different. The film process can be so brief, it's nice to have the extra thinking time for your creative process." McGregor plays a big part of the second episode of the season, "Geeks in Love," when her marriage to Fred gets put to it's first big test. Apparently her co-star, Sutherland, helps keep things light on set by singing his beloved 80's pop songs at the top of his lungs. "I find that endlessly entertaining," McGregor adds with a laugh. |
