Appearing on "The View," Emerson didn't clarify which character will meet their untimely demise. "Someone you've gotten to know fairly well isn't going to last much longer," says Emerson. "But that doesn't matter on 'Lost;' being dead means you can still be on the show." Aside from that tidbit of information, Emerson didn't elaborate upon upcoming plot developments. The actor joined "Lost" in season two as the mysterious Henry Gale, later revealed as Ben Linus, the show's devious and conniving villain. Emerson is no stranger to playing the bad guy, either. In 2001 he won an Emmy for his performance as serial killer William Hinks in "The Practice," and also took a leading role in the big screen slasher-flick "Saw." But according to the actor, a veteran of the theatre, he's still uncomfortable being known as a scoundrel. "On stage, I used to be just a funny guy. Everything I did before television was of the humour or harmless sort," says Emerson. "That's why I'm mystified at the characters I play. I don't really understand it." Emerson earned a second Emmy nomination for his portrayal of "Ben" in 2007. "Lost" airs Thursday night at 9:00 p.m. ET on CTV. |
