Top 15 Things to Know About Auditions
|
Here are the top things we think are "MUST-KNOWS" when you are making your Canadian Idol audition plans... 1. For the first time, there is no 8 a.m. cut-off: people hoping to audition can arrive ANYTIME between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the day(s) of auditions. In many cities, you can choose to come on the first or second day of auditions. 2. As a result, you do not need to line-up overnight. Just show up between 8 a.m. and 3. For the first time, the age limit has been extended to 28. If you are between the ages of 16 and 28 as of Feb. 1, 2006, you are eligible to audition. 4. The best source for information about auditions is the Canadian Idol Web site at www.idol.ctv.ca. Visit the Forums section for advice from people who have auditioned before. 5. The Venue generally opens up to three hours before the 8 a.m. registration time on the day of auditions. If you have subscribed to the Canadian Idol newsletter at idol.ctv.ca, you may be notified by e-mail about when the venue opens. Otherwise, the opening times will be posted at the venue. Participants arriving before the posted opening time will be turned away by security. 6. Food and drink can usually be purchased at the venue. However, please plan accordingly. 7. You must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant – NO STUDENT VISAS. 8. You must bring a signed release form, either obtained online at www.idol.ctv.ca or at the audition. 9. You must bring two pieces of ID. One piece must include a RECENT photo. 10. Please remember that the audition process can take several days if you continue to advance through the competition, so please plan accordingly with respect to travel and accommodation arrangements. 11. We encourage you to bring friends and family with you to support you through the audition process. However, please note that depending on the city and the venue, we may not have the capacity to fit all competitors and guests into the facility. No guests – including parents and guardians – are allowed into the audition room with you. 12. The auditions will be first-come, first-seen. So it is up to you to decide when to arrive at the auditions. Please anticipate line-ups. Everyone that shows up before 5 p.m. on the day of auditions will be seen by the judges. 13. Please dress to impress and remember, if you want to be on TV, do NOT wear clothes with visible logos, trademarks or offensive language. 14. Be prepared to sing two songs of your choice a cappella (without music). 15. Have fun and enjoy the entire Canadian Idol audition experience. |
