Toronto, ON - Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Theresa Sokyrka (pronounced So-Care-Ka) became a household name across Canada last fall. Eastern Tour Dates Announced -- Debut album coming soon! Beating out thousands of competitors and triumphing as the runner up in 2004's Canadian Idol, Theresa captured the hearts of millions of Canadians with her vocal artistry, unending diversity, natural elegance and genuine personal modesty. From her first appearances in the Canadian Idol competitions, Theresa so enchanted her audiences with her lyrical, popular and jazz renditions, that she instantly became a much recognized celebrity, referred to by many as the "Sweetheart of Saskatoon". With her cheerful and friendly personality and her genuinely wholesome demeanor, she attracted legions of fans and has become a refreshing positive role model for young Canadians. Theresa's been extremely busy since her Canadian Idol tenure. Amidst numerous appearances and performances throughout Canada, Theresa traveled half way around the world to participate in a concert for the Multinational United Forces bases located in Northern Egypt. On January 1st of this year she earned the distinction of being being named 'Saskatchewan 2005 Centennial Youth Ambassador'.
