Ryan Malcolm - Canadian Idol 2003
Since being crowned the first ever Canadian Idol last September, Kingston-native Ryan Malcolm's rocket to stardom has continued to soar. His debut album, "Home," released in December 2003 has sold more than 100,000 copies, with his single "Something More" remaining on Canada's Singles Charts for the 34th straight week. Only months after capturing the Canadian Idol crown, Ryan Malcolm headed off to London, England to compete in World Idol where he placed sixth among the world's Idol winners. In early 2004, Ryan sold out shows across Eastern Canada on his first solo concert tour. He also performed the national anthem at the 91st Annual Grey Cup. Celebrating the anniversary party of 19 Entertainment, Ryan shared the stage with legendary singer Annie Lennox at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. Back in Canada, Ryan presented an award alongside fellow Canadian Idol finalist Audrey de Montigny at the 2004 Juno Awards in Edmonton. Recently nominated for "Best New Artist" by the Canadian Radio Music Awards, Ryan Malcolm is currently writing material for his second album.
