CTV rolls out the red carpet for the fourth straight year for The 2005 Juno Awards following groundbreaking stops in Edmonton (2004), Ottawa-Gatineau (2003) and St. John's (2002).
With less than eight weeks to go, set designers are constructing models and producers are tinkering with line-ups as production gears up for CTV's broadcast of the 34th Annual Awards telecast, live from Winnipeg's MTS Centre.
Hosted by Canadian television star Brent Butt, The 2005 Juno Awards will be broadcast across Canada on Sunday, April 3 at 8:30 p.m. (9:30 p.m. in Atlantic Canada) on CTV.
Last year's Juno awards telecast, hosted by Alanis Morissette in Edmonton, was the most-watched show of the night in Canada with 1.51 million viewers tuning in. In all, more than 5 million viewers watched some part of the star-studded special.
Once again, CTV is enormously proud to be host broadcaster of The 2005 Juno Awards.
"The Juno Awards are about the fans, both at home and in the concert venue," said Susanne Boyce, CTV President of Programming and Chair of the Media Group.
"It's an exercise in nation-building where for one night each year, fans from coast-to-coast join together to celebrate the best that Canada has to offer."
Toronto-based Insight Productions is on board again to take up the challenge of producing the show from Edmonton.
"Once again, we will push the envelope with an innovative stage design and show structure," said executive producer John Brunton.
"Our aim this year as in years past is to make viewers at home feel like they are in the stadium stands, absorbing the electric atmosphere that a live concert generates. With such an incredible line-up of talent booked to perform this year, we are determined to cook up some surprises that will leave people panting in the aisles in the arena and gasping for breath back home."
As with the previous years, CTV promises to utilize its entire slate of cross-promotional resources to support this year's broadcast of The 2005 JUNO Awards.
Below is a snapshot of programming initiatives:
