Toronto-based Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra have written one of the brightest
success stories in Canadian classical music. Since forming in 1979, they
have earned a glowing reputation internationally, drawing praise from
BBC Magazine for “the vitality and finesse of their playing.”
These multiple JUNO winners have released over 60 recordings, and in 1996
they received Germany’s Echo Klassik Award as Best Orchestra of
the Year. Tafelmusik specialize in period instruments, as can be heard
on Bach’s Orchestral Suites Nos. 1, 3 and 4. |

Yannick Nézet-Séguin artistic director; Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal Nino Rota: La Strada

Young
conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin was declared Discovery of
the Year at the 1999 Opus Awards. He has quickly lived up to that promise,
conducting with The Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Les Grands Ballets.
He co-founded La Chapelle de Montreal, a fine baroque choral and chamber
ensemble. On La Strada, he leads the superb Orchestre Métropolitain
Du Grand Montreal through the work of noted Italian film composer Nino
