Sandy
Scofield won a Best Alternative Album Award at the National Aboriginal
Music Awards and earned a JUNO nomination for her previous disc, Riel's
Road. She digs deeper into her aboriginal roots on Ketwam, which features
original songs in a traditional style and tongue. Powerful lyrics sung
in a gorgeous voice are her trademarks.
Whitefish Jrs In Honour Of Percy Dreaver
Cree
drumming and singing group Whitefish Jr's are from the Big River First
Nations near Prince Albert. The much-travelled ensemble have performed
in Germany, hosted many pow wows, won singing contests across North America,
and performed in front of President Clinton.
