OLYMPIC DEBUT
1992 Albertville, France (Moguls)
1994 Lillehammer, Norway (Aerials)
ORIGINS
Three types of freestyle skiing competition - aerials, ballet, and moguls - were included as demonstration events at the 1988 Games in Calgary.
Moguls became a medal event at the Albertville Games in 1992, when aerials and ballet were again demonstration events.
In 1994 at the Lillehammer Games, aerials were also added to the Olympic program. Ballet (a.k.a. acro) is still not a medal event. |
