Profili, BillBritish Columbia, British Columbia Southern Interior, Liberal Party of Canada Bill Profili is an active member of his community and has served as the Mayor of Rossland for sixteen years. He was a founding member of the Community Futures Committee, serving as the chair for two years, and has also chaired the Highway 3B Mayors Committee, which deals with highway issues from Princeton to the Alberta border. Additionally, Mr. Profili co-chaired the Community Forest Advisory Committee (CFAC), putting together the first new forest tender since 1948, and served as the Finance Chairman for the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary. Bill has worked for thirty years as an Emergency Paramedic and chaired the first CUPE collective agreement for the BC Ambulance Service. He has a history of being involved with unions having co-prepared the presentation accepted by the federal Anti-Inflation Board in Ottawa. He is the current chair of the Lower Columbia Community Development Team (LCCDT), working towards bringing economic development to the region through improvements to airports, highways, hospitals, education, and social issues. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Profili also volunteers his spare time as a minor hockey and softball coach. He belongs to many social clubs and associations such as the Colombo Lodge, the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion, and the Trail Wildlife Association. Born to parents of third generation Italian Irish immigrants, Bill and his two brothers and sisters were raised in Rossland, British Columbia. He is married to Angie, a registered nurse, and has three children and four grandchildren.
