Born in Winnipeg in 1947

Graduated from St. Paul’s High School in 1965

Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968 and a Certificate in Education in 1970

Since 1970 has taught Senior English at Virden Collegiate

Served the Fort La Bosse School Division as a student evaluation policy developer and teacher evaluation policy developer

Has served as the public relations officer for the Fort La Bosse Teachers’ Society

Has played, coached and officiated baseball, fastball, football, volleyball, basketball and track and field throughout his 35 years in the area

For 24 years has been an umpire for the Manitoba Softball League and all levels below it and for the past 12 years has been an umpire clinician for Baseball Canada, teaching and mentoring young umpires

Received the Award of Merit from the Manitoba Baseball Association and an honorary life membership from the MSBL

In 1988 received the Certificate of Merit from the Government of Canada for community involvement in the arts

Served as Chairman of the Virden Inter-Denominational Refugee Committee

Served as Secretary of the Oak Lake Rink Board that successfully completed the geo-thermal artificial ice project for the community rink

With his wife Maureen, has lived in Virden for 35 years
