Manitoba farmer and activist Murray Downing is proud to be the Liberal candidate for Brandon-Souris.

Mr. Downing is a long-time lobbyist for western farmers and one of the founders of “Grass Roots Producers of Manitoba,” which organizes rallies, phone and letter-writing campaigns and surveys to highlight the problems facing agriculture producers.

Mr. Downing’s involvement in the formulation of agricultural policy has already taken him many times to Ottawa and meetings with government and bureaucratic leaders, and he has become recognizable in parliamentary circles.

Mr. Downing’s wife Linda, and daughter Lindsay, operate and reside on their 2,200-acre grain farm near Reston, Manitoba.
