Tweed, MervManitoba, Brandon - Souris, Conservative Party of Canada Merv Tweed was first elected to the House of Commons in June, 2004. Mr. Tweed served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism in the province of Manitoba. He served 9 years as MLA for Turtle Mountain in the Manitoba Legislature. He also served 5 years as a municipal councilor. Merv Tweed owned and operated a successful family business for several years before entering politics. A graduate of Brandon University, he has been a very active supporter of community and recreational affairs. Merv and his wife, Bev, have 3 children, Jennifer, Charles and Matthew.
