Clausen, Kren

Kren Clausen believes in unity and equality for all persons and cultures. He developed his cross-cultural appreciation from conducting business with countries from around the world. Mr. Clausen, a self employed businessman and whose career has focused mainly on international trade in the environmental, apparel/textile and arts/entertainment sectors, is a graduate of Bishop's University (he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree).

Recognizing the importance of the emerging Information Communication Technologies (ICT) industry, Mr. Clausen founded an on-going venture in the area of international co-developing, co-producing and consulting in convergence of internet technologies with digital media, documentary television and feature films in the mid-1990s.

With a belief in contributing to one's community and to work with government for change, Mr. Clausen has served as a director and advisor on numerous boards and committees in industry and in both federal and provincial governments. Mr. Clausen believes in the Canadian Arts and Culture industries. After serving on the board, Mr. Clausen served as President to the Interactive Multimedia Arts & Technologies Association (IMAT), Canada's oldest digital media arts & technologies not-for-profit industry association.

As an industry advisor, Mr. Clausen has presented advice at yearly provincial pre-budget tax meetings to Provincial Ministers of both Finance and Communications, Telefilm Canada's New Media Fund, SaskFilm New Media Fund, Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund, Women in Film and Television (WIFT), Ontario Media Development Corp., City of Toronto and Province of Ontario joint ICT committees, and he served as Canada's National Industry Representative on foreign missions to Asia and Europe for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and for the Department of Canadian Heritage.
