· Upon returning to Canada, worked in municipal government and taught at a community college

· Received a Bachelor’s and a Master's degree in Planning from Queen's University

· Awarded an Outstanding Alumna Award from Queen's University in 1995 for her work in health and social planning

· Has 13 years of experience in the Ontario health system, four as Executive Director of the Grand River District Health Council based in Brantford

· Former Chief Operating Officer of the Ontario Women's Health Council

· Has operated her own consulting practice since 2003, focusing primarily on health and social service planning

· Has served as a member of a public sector union executive, on a labour council, and in labour education

· Current community service includes the Brantford Rotary Club and a Sunday dinner program for low-income families

· Community involvement includes serving on the board of a women's shelter, on United Way campaign cabinets, and as a founding member of the Brant Early Years Steering Committee

· Lives in Brantford with her husband, Ron Cameron; they have five children and five grandchildren
