Pouliot, RobertQuebec, Sherbrooke, Liberal Party of Canada Born in 1943 in Saint-François-Xavier-de-Brompton, Robert Pouliot is the President and Director-General of Equipment for Bob Pouliot and is a co-founder of Bureaulab (Groupe Novexco). A Sherbrooke City Councillor since 2001, Mr. Pouliot was the mayor of Ascot for 22 years. He was elected and re-elected six times between 1979 and 2001. During his time as mayor, Mr. Pouliot was on the Board of Directors for l’Union des municipalités du Québec and on the executive of the organization from 1985 to 2001. In addition he served as president of the Sherbrooke Public Security Committee (2002-2005), vice president and the manager of the Sherbrooke Opex Human Resources Centre (1995-2005) and director and treasurer for the Estrie Regional Board of Environment (2000-2005). Mr. Pouliot is an active member of his community. He has been the director of Centraide Estrie de Sherbrooke, a member of the organizing committee for the 1995 Jeux du Québec de Sherbrooke and was a founding member and director for la Régie intermunicipale du Centre récréotouristique Montjoie from 1999 to 2005. Mr. Pouliot was also the governor of the Sherbrooke Kidney Foundation, a founding member of the Club optimiste Bellevue d’Ascot and the Bob Pouliot Tennis Tournament. Mr. Pouliot is married to Louise Bombardier and is the father of five and grandfather of eleven. He has degrees from the Sherbrooke Seminary, the Sherbrooke Institute of Technology, and the Dan River Institute of Management. Robert Pouliot indisputably devoted to his community, and has always been active in the service of his fellow citizens. Mr. Pouliot wishes to further serve the people of his community in federal politics as the Liberal candidate for Sherbrooke in Election 2006.
