Luc Chiasson is proud to be the Liberal candidate for Roberval--Lac-Saint-Jean.

Mr. Chiasson is 22 years old and lives in Chambord in the Lac-Saint-Jean area. He is completing a combined B.A., with a major in political science and a minor in sociology, at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi. He is a graduate of Roberval Polyvalente High School and completed his CEGEP studies in humanities at Saint-Félicien.

Mr. Chiasson became involved in the Liberal Party of Canada in the Roberval--Lac-Saint-Jean riding as Vice-President at a young age. He is the co-founder of the Young Liberals of Canada Club at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi and was also involved in the student movement as the Vice-President of the Students Association at the Saint-Félicien CEGEP.

As someone passionate about politics and current events, Mr. Chiasson is particularly interested in constitutional issues and in the exodus of young people from his region. Apart from studying, he enjoys reading, hockey and cycling.

Because he wanted to contribute to his region’s development and to give his riding a real alternative, Mr. Chiasson decided to run as the Liberal candidate in Election 2006.
