Tang, SoeungQuebec, Laurier - Sainte-Marie, Liberal Party of Canada After receiving his training in business administration from l’École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal, Ngong Soeung Tang began his career as the director of business development for import-export. He also worked as a director of market development for a technology company before starting his own business as a consultant for Canadian-Asian relations. Through his business, Mr. Tang has dealt with various levels of government, particularly federal ministerial departments. A long time Liberal activist, Mr. Tang has served as Treasurer of the Young Liberals of Canada. He has worked on various election campaigns for all levels of government since 1993, but has focused the majority of his efforts to the Quebec wing of the Liberal Party of Canada. In addition to his Canadian electoral experience, Mr. Tang also worked as a UN international election observer for the 1998 Cambodian general election. He was also involved in the 1997 Ottawa Mine Ban Treaty and the Sommet de la Francophonie in Moncton in 1999. An active member of Montreal’s cultural community, Mr. Tang is devoted to strengthening the Asian communities in order to support Canadian unity across the country.
