Earned his PhD in 1998 in inorganic chemistry from the Université de Montréal before moving to Laval

During his studies, became manager of the Chemistry Department students’ journal at the Université de Montréal

Disappointed by the policies of the PQ, which he found too neo-liberal, decided to quit that party at the end of the 1990s

In 2003, following the election of Jack Layton as Leader, joined the ranks of the NDP, a party that reflects his own aspirations, values and principles

In the 2004, served as Campaign Manager for NDP candidate Benjamin LeBel

Later was elected Executive Councillor of the Quebec Section of the NDP

President of the Alfred-Pellan NDP Riding Association since 2004.
