Harris, Stephen EliNewfoundland and Labrador, St. John's East, Green Party of Canada Born and raised in Churchill Falls, Newfoundland and Labrador, Stephen is the youngest of 6 children. Now 27, he resides in St. John's pursuing his career as an actor. At 17, Stephen attended Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia studying computer technology and information systems. During his time in Nova Scotia, Stephen was pulled into the world of politics by volunteering as a young Liberal. It was his first taste of politics. Stephen has since made the choice to complete his technology degree at a later time and pursue his first career choice as an actor. He moved back to the province he loves and has had much success over the last 10 years performing in just about every corner of Newfoundland and Labrador. Stephen is finally seeing that trusting your choices and believing in what you do is more than half the battle. In his spare time, Stephen is an avid collector of comic books and movies. When not collecting, he enjoys reading, both fiction and non and in most recent years taking a fondness to philosophy and readings of human nature. It was this love of reading and interest in philosophy that turned him on to the Green party of Canada. In 2002, an eye opening book entitled "Ismael" by Daniel Quinn was handed to him. It was this book that opened his eyes and fundamentally changed his view on humans, culture and how we all are barely coexisting with this beautiful planet. In the 2004 election, Stephen helped promote the wisdom of the Green Party by way of volunteer. His desire to set people on the right path to saving our planet and creating sustainable ways to live enveloped him to a point where volunteering was not enough. In the coming election, Stephen decided to take leadership and run as a candidate for the Green Party to ensure as many Newfoundland and Labradorians hear a new voice, a voice of reason, a voice of the future.
