For Jesse Weafer, the competition has proved that he can handle a lot of pressure. Finding out he was in the Top 22 of Season 3 was proof that his ability to show grace under fire had paid off. “I had a complete out of body experience that felt like an explosion of light that poured out of every part of my body.” Being no stranger to the professional dance world, Jesse is ecstatic to see what new doors SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA will open for him.

The contemporary dancer from Aurora, Ontario credits his studio training for shaping him into the dancer he is today. “I always knew that I had to gain as much training with as many instructors as I could to be a versatile dancer.” Using his versatility, Jesse has worked with Wade Robson, Chris Angel, Michael Bublé and Adam Shankman, just to name a few.

Jesse says none of his successes would have been possible if his sister had not opened his eyes to the “wonderful world of dance,” he says. Having recently danced in Las Vegas, Jesse says he is excited to work with the Canadian choreographers. “I would love to work with Stacey Tookey; I have fallen in love with her choreography.”

Like many other dancers of the world, Jesse wishes he could have danced alongside Michael Jackson, and also says he would jump at the opportunity to see Karen Kain perform. When asked what dance career he would like to follow, Jesse points to Wade Robson always having a stellar creative process that he most admires. “He is doing exactly what my ideal career choice would be.”

Always making sure he gives 100%, Jesse wants viewers to see the true him on stage, saying “they can expect to see the pure joy and freedom I feel when I dance.” Although he is most nervous about ballroom, Jesse feels that the experience he already has allows him to “adapt to any style of choreography.” With tons of support coming from his family, especially his mother, Jesse is ready to prove to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA audience that he is here to chase his dreams.
