Top 12
Claudia was in shock and utter disbelief upon learning she had made it into the Top 22 of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 3. “I thought it was a joke. I couldn’t believe it.”
A Canadian ballroom champion since the age of 16, Claudia says she first trained in ballet, jazz and hip-hop. The Quebecer says she stopped all other styles of dance after becoming hooked on ballroom the moment she started competing with a male partner.
Ballroom competitions have taken Claudia all over the world including Russia, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Australia and more. Notable choreographers Claudia has worked with include ballroom champions Pierre Allaire and Danny Quilliam. Claudia’s formal training has even extended to New York City (Dance Times Square) and New Jersey (Starlight Dance Center). Vibeke Toft is her current coach.
Claudia grew up with her mother who worked three jobs so that her daughter could fulfill her passion in dance. It should then come as no surprise that Claudia credits her mother as the person who most strongly shaped her dancing career thus far. “My mom gave me all the support as a child. She made a lot of sacrifices to pay for all my dance classes, costumes, and trips for championships. I can say that I am here now because of her!”
On top of being a die-hard ballroom dancer, Claudia enjoys snacking on jujubes and indulging in ice cream cake. She loved her bachelor of psychology at Montreal University.
Canada can expect to see Claudia produce some exciting ballroom performances combined with great partner chemistry. “I’m ready to work hard every week. I want to give a good show and connect with the public. I hope to win the public’s heart!”
