Eliminated: Top 10

After learning she had made the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Top 20, Amy Gardner says she felt a sense of relief. The 21-year-old Calgary native has found that waiting to get on stage and strut her stuff has been the most challenging part of the competition so far. "There was so much anticipation during Finals Week. It got to the point where I just wanted to know. I was definitely extremely excited!" she exclaims.

Primarily a contemporary dancer, Amy is also formally trained in jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, street jazz and musical theatre. She feels her versatility along with a unique and mature style will help her stand out from the competition. Amy has learned that the key to her success on the show so far is remaining "calm and confident, but always humble," she says.

Amy's relentless dedication to dance has taken her all over the world. Having participated in a variety of competitions in North America, she has also leapt across the pond to perform in Spain, Australia and parts of Africa. Amy credits her success to the emotional support of her mother whose "determination and love has definitely been an inspiration."

Having performed with the likes of Josh Beamish, Erica Sobel and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 1 winner Nico Archambault, Amy would love to one day work with SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA guest judge and choreographer Mia Michaels. She is eager, however, to carve a name for herself in the dance world and feels most comfortable when dancing and choreographing alone in the studio.

Amy is quite moved by the genuine support amongst her fellow competitors vying to become Canada's Favourite Dancer. She believes that winning this season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA will require "making everyone fall in love with me and my dancing. The total package is key."
