Runner-Up Vincent Desjardins might not even be dancing if it wasn't for his sister. He says "I didn't want to dance at first. I was forced into a dance studio by my sister and after a few classes, I really started to like it." Since then, Vincent has been performing in Ballroom competitions in major cities around the world including New York, Toronto and Blackpool, England. Born and raised in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Vincent's biggest support system is his entire family, but especially his parents. "My parents are always there for me and provide me with all the love and support I need," he says. The best day of Vincent's life was when he found out he made the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 2 Top 20. He said "I was so excited and overwhelmed with joy, I didn't know how to react. I didn't even know if it was true or not." While he is ecstatic to be a part of the experience, Vincent believes it will take a lot of determination and concentration to win. "I'll have to win Canada's heart!" Trained only in Ballroom, Vincent's biggest challenge in the competition so far has been giving his all each time he's been on stage - no matter what style he's dancing. "I'm not afraid of dancing outside my comfort zone but I've never danced house before so that might be interesting!" he says. During the competition, Vincent hopes to work with judge/choreographer and fellow ballroom dancer Jean Marc Genereux. Vincent's biggest inspiration is Italy's Stefano Di Filippo, second world champion in amateur ballroom. "When he dances you can tell he loves it. He delivers with such passion, it's inspiring. I hope to bring that same passion to the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA stage," he says. |
