Eliminated: Top 8 Cody Bonnell, or "Cod-Fish" as his mom like to call him, is a hip-hop dancer from Unionville, who now resides in Toronto. For Cody, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA is important because "it gives dancers a chance to be in the spotlight, when usually we are in the background." Although hip-hop is his main style, Cody has also trained in ballet, jazz and tap. His advice to future SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA hopefuls is to "prepare yourself by taking classes in as many styles as you can and not limit yourself to one particular genre. Also prepare yourself mentally and physically for the craziest ride of your life!" Cody believes that his former dance teachers, friends and especially his family have given him a great deal of support throughout his dance career. He says "My family has provided me with inspiration because they have always been supportive of my dancing and they are behind me 100 per cent." Unlike any other experience in his life, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA has been life changing for Cody. "I view dance differently because I get to see so many amazing dancers with diverse dance backgrounds. It's crazy how everyone approaches their dancing and it's a great learning opportunity for everyone." Cody believes it will take a lot of work on his behalf. "I must commit to every dance style I do to prove myself as the best dancer." Cody adds, "viewers can expect a lot of energy on the stage and see that I am here to dance my feet off and prove to Canada I deserve to win!" |
