Eliminated: Top 6

As a classically trained ballet dancer and Canadian national champion figure skater, Emanuel Sandhu couldn't be more pleased with making the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 2 Top 20.

With training at the National Ballet School of Canada, and having trained with notable choreographers including Menaka Thakkar, Roberto Campanella and Sean Cheesman, Emanuel can't wait to work with Blake McGrath and Melissa Williams, "I love Melissa's theatricality and because she's worked with Prince!" Emanuel dreams to one day work with SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE choreograph and guest judge choreographer Mia Michaels as well as the Emmy® and Tony Award®-winning Twyla Tharp. He would have loved to have worked with the late iconic choreographer Bob Fosse.

Known for his triple axel, both on ice and on the stage, Emanuel favours dance moves where he feels airborne. He says "I prefer any movement where I feel like I get to fly for a moment, or where I get to travel and cover the stage. I'm always trying to invent new moves and I love turns!" Although he has formal training in ballet, Emanuel is also skilled at contemporary, hip hop and jazz.

Viewers can expect a true performer and entertainer out of Emanuel. "I hope viewers see me as a dancer who adores performing and can't help but speak through my body. I'm a dancer who wants to keep learning and therefore growing as a person and artist," he says.

With many accomplishments under his belt including representing Canada at the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games, winning his first national figure skating title in 2001, and being accepted into the National Ballet School of Canada, Emanuel believes the best day of his life was when he made the Top 20. His advice for the next group of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA hopefuls? "Don't give up if you don't make it into the Top 20 your first time!"
