Eliminated: Top 20 Taylor James believes his versatility as a dancer has helped him make the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 2 Top 20. His formal training in jazz, hip hop and contemporary has taken Taylor all over Canada and the U.S. as an instructor and performer. He also spends his spare time taking photographs for a variety of magazines across Canada and is never without his camera. Growing up in Vancouver, Taylor says he is proud of his hometown because, he says "everyone that I dance with in Vancouver has always been so incredibly supportive of me. There's a small but tight dance community in Vancouver, and I am so blessed to have the love and respect of my friends and family." During Finals Week, Taylor found himself reciting a positive affirmation repeatedly in his head before going on stage. "I am pretty superstitious about manifesting your destiny and that everything happens for a reason," he says. Making the Top 20 has been Taylor's biggest accomplishment to date and he can't wait to work with SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA special guest judges and choreographers Blake McGrath, Luther Brown, Mia Michaels and Stacey Tookey. "I got to do choreography with Blake and Luther during Finals Week in Toronto, but I have looked up to both of them for a long time and I can't wait to have the opportunity to work with them more on the show," he says. When performing, viewers can expect to see Taylor leave it all on the stage because he loves to entertain and make people smile. He says that "since I am such a fan of the show, I know how watching a couple perform their piece of choreography can affect me. If I can make Canada feel the same emotions I have felt watching the show, I will be so happy!" |
